FAQs.
-
No. The VCCN is an independent program; the CCB regulates Vermont’s cannabis program. The VCCN abides by the CCB’s rules and regulations.
-
Starting October 1st, all patients will need to have their Vermont Cannabis Medical Card. Please see the VT CCB website for medical card eligibility.
The medical card will be necessary when you pickup at the dispensary.
-
At this time, the program is free. Beginning October 1st, patients will need to pick up medicine at a medical dispensary. Some dispensaries may add a small fee (such as $1, or other charges they decide). These fees are set by dispensaries—not by the VCCN. The VCCN will never charge you directly.
-
Go to: https://ccb.vermont.gov/medical
and follow the steps to get your medical card!
-
Please be in an area that you are able to have a phone conversation to discuss your medical needs. Please also have a pen, and paper on hand to take notes.
-
We always suggest that you inform your doctor of your medical cannabis use.
-
During our intake call, we will figure out what symptoms you are trying to manage, and we will give you products for those symptoms.
-
The majority of the flower we receive are donations from growers all over the state who simply want to help.
We use our business, Highly Rooted, to fund the program. Funding The VCCN is why we run Highly Rooted. We pay for the machine, labor, and ethanol to make FECO, all of the ingredients, labor, and packaging to make the products we give away, and about 90% of the transporting to patients.
-
We never share personal information with anyone other than the people you permit us to in your intake form.
-
We only need proof of your cancer diagnosis. We do not need proof of your medical card. Your medical card will be required when going into the dispensary to pickup your medicine.

Cannabis consumption is essential for keeping me less than debilitated every day. My brain injury has left me unable to work, so the cost of cannabis can be the deciding factor in whether I get pain relief or not. Without their generosity, buying food would be a priority over pain relief.
